Had a true mom day out yesterday. While Liam was at mdo, a friend and I went to the John Paul Gaultier exhibit at the Dallas museum of art. It was mesmerizing and inspiring. What an amazing mind he has to come up with so many complicated and unique designs. If you love fashion it is a must see.

Busy weekend… cleaned out the garage and got ride of this nasty old fridge that came with the house.  Also husband and brother-in-law dug a 4 foot hole in backyard because the sprinkler system is leaking only to figure out they can not fix it themselves.  Lastly we were going to clean the cars inside and out but did not have time.  Looks like I really need to now.  Liam likes ketchup…maybe too much.  So on Sunday afternoon while mom and dad are struggling to get a huge fridge through a tiny door in our work room, he ate and spread ketchup all over my car. And you know what he had to say for himself, “Yum I like ketchup!” While he liked his lips and fingers covered in ketchup.  Maybe my next kid will be a girl and she will like to clean and pick up and so she will just follow Liam around.

What great weather we have had this week. It feels like March or April not January, with the temperature in the 70’s. So liam and I have been out enjoying it as much as we can. We are feeling very tired at the end of this busy week but very blessed to have friends for play dates. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Made cookies again. Now that I have a mixer, whipping up a batch takes almost no time. Plus it makes Liam so happy and seeing his eyes light up when I say “let’s make cookies” is the best.

Home on the Range~

This is a part of Texas I have not experienced yet but would really like to, it is the southwest part of Texas.  I have been here 9 years this year and hope to make it to Marfa and other beautiful places soon.

fromme-toyou:

Tucked away in the south of Texas is Cibolo Creek Ranch where the days are long, hospitality is grand, cowboys are king and at night there are enough stars the the big Texas sky to make all your wishes come true. Pssst- you only have cell and internet service in one small area of the ranch so it is quite literally a true escape…

Welcome to Texas y’all~

Look at us, so happy here.  We are enjoying a day out at the Dallas children’s museum.  You would never guess that this little guy just a month later would throw up on his mother 6 times in a 36 hour period. I am so tired of puke right now I could puke.  I keep walking around the house taking really big sniffs trying to decide if the whole house smells like vomit or if it is just me.  I have done 4 loads of laundry since 8 pm last night and washed several floors.  All I want is to go out to eat and have some one else do the dishes and cook the food but I don’t think it is a good idea to take a 2 year old out to eat that has been throwing up for two days.  We did go to the doctor, who said he has a lot of mucus and when he coughs it up he gags and then throws up and so and so on.  Sometimes being a mom is hard but I don’t want anyone else to clean up Liam so here I am.  If you come over to visit please don’t tell me the house smells, I know.

The holidays started out with a long road trip to Taos, New Mexico for a vacation with my side of the family.  Attending was my mother, step-father, brother and his wife and son.  As well as my aunt and uncle from California and there son and daughter with their significant others.  We rented two houses that were side-by-side and a little out of town.  The view was amazing from the houses and they were close to the Taos ski slopes as well as to the town.  They even had a hot tub which was needed after a long day on the slopes.  Liam had a great time with his cousin, Jordan, they are a month apart and played very well together.  They both love trucks and all kinds of vehicles.  So we constantly had tons of cars and trucks strewn all over the living room.  The two days I skied Liam went to a wonderful daycare that was on the mountain.  He got to play outside and snacks and lunch were provided.  The ski school and daycare are very highly rated and the school is one of the best in the country.  I can’t wait to go back when Liam is older and he can learn to ski.  The skiing was amazing!  Lots of powder the first day, maybe too much, almost blizzard conditions in the morning.  The second day the slopes were well groomed and awesome.  I would go back right now.  We have skied a lot of places in New Mexico and I think Taos maybe my favorite so far.   Here are some links to our vacation:

Our last night there Matt and I decided to take a break from the family and eat at a wonderful little place that gets wonderful recommendations and for good cause it was the best meal we had on the trip. The Love Apple, is all local, organic and cash only.

Thanks grandma sharon and pop! Finally put together liam’s new art station that he got as a christmas present. It was a lot easier then I thought I would be. Now I just need to get a roll of paper so we can paint.
