Had a special weekend, it was Mat’s birthday on Thursday and we celebrated it all weekend in Denton and Lake Dallas with his family.  On Saturday we went to a UNT basketball game with the family and took the kids, by “kids” that includes an eight month old, 2 year old and 3 year old.  The basketball game actually went really well.  We had really close seats and there was lots to distract the kids.  Lunch after the game was tough because by that time everyone, adults included, were hungry and tired, a bad mix.

After the game it was on to bowling (with no kids).  We bowled at one of our favorite places, University Bowl, formally Holiday Lanes.  It is very old school, and even though they have fixed it up since the last time we were there it has not lost any of its white trash bowling charm.  And the best part they still had cheap pitchers of beer.  I am a horrible bowler and always have been but it was still a lot of fun even though I was dead last on ever single game I played.  I hope we do it again soon.

On Sunday we were treated to a birthday lunch at Mat’s mom’s house that included her amazing from scratch German chocolate cake, always a highlight of Mat’s birthday.
