I love it and I forget about my love until I make it and then remember how much I love it and how much my family loves. This includes the three-year-old who will lick the bowl and spatula like I had made cookies when I make it. Here is a really easy recipe for it and I throw everything in my food processor and then drizzle in the olive oil. Also don’t be afraid to add quite a bit of salt, sea salt is good stuff.

1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
3 tablespoons tahini paste
2 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed or a whole head of roasted garlic
3 tablespoons lemon juice, or as needed
1/4 cup olive oil
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Blend until smooth and then season with salt and pepper.

One of my best friends is moving from being three hours away to over twelve. Not only is her second child close in age to Liam but her third child is the same exact age as Luci. I think I am in shock still that she is moving cause I am not crying my eyes out yet. She has to move back cause one of our kids are going to get married to each other.
This is her son, Hudson, already putting the moves on Luci.

Found this article about why coconut oil works so great for your skin, especially for those of us with acne.

Thought y’all might appreciate it, since I had a couple comments on my post last night about being skeptical of using an oil on your skin, especially your face.

So, there you have it. Coconut oil does not solidify on your skin, therefore it will not clog your pores. It has anti-microbial properties, so it will help heal your acne. It’s moisturizing and apparently it’s good for wrinkles too, which I did not know!

Everyone go buy a jar of it! I’ll have to go look at the brand I get.. I really love it. I read a lot on the internet before about coconut oil having a particular smell to it. Mine does not smell when I use it on my skin. I can smell it when Mat uses it to cook with, but it’s amazing. I really love chicken cooked in a little bit of coconut oil, and according to this article, coconut oil pairs well with certain veggies.

I should mention that when I use it on my face it does not look or feel like I rubbed myself with Crisco or anything. I know it’s an oil, but it doesn’t really feel that way. My skin absorbs it really well… naturally you will have a little sheen to you when you use it, BUT… not a greasy look. I used it last night all over. This morning I’m just soft. That’s it. It doesn’t leave a residue at all.

So, there you have it. Coconut oil wins all the awards.

I’m having one of those days. Nothing seems to be going right. Liam was home sick from school and I swear he got his sister sick as well. So I have two sick kids and only one of them that napped. And I bet you can guess which one it was. This no napping led to an all out fight with a 3 year old, and as anyone who’s ever fought with a 3 year old can tell you noone wins that fight.
Besides the fact I’m so unmotivated right now. I can’t seem to get my butt into gear to do anything, that includes working out, house work, paper work, all work related items. Maybe tomorrow will be better, at least Thursday Liam well be at school and I can get something done.

Love every single one of these photos. Can not recommend enough my two girlfriends that are photographers. They both do amazing work. Luci’s first photo shoot was so relaxing and easy. Who knew that photographing a two week old could be this easy.

I miss her already. My mom came down and stayed with us for a week and she just left on a jet plane back to Kansas. She was so amazingly helpful with Liam who has been having some adjusting issues. Now that she has left, I am a little apprehensive about being alone during the day with both of them. But I have to make that leap sometime. Just wish she lived closer then 8 hours. Hopefully we will see her soon.
